Update 24.04.2020: If you can’t answer incoming calls, try this fix: Huawei: Can’t answer incoming calls
Here is my device setup:
Android version: Android 9 Pie
EMUI: version 9.1.0
Build number: 9.1.2.200
However, this problem may also effect Huawei models like the p10, p20, p30, mate, lite models and maybe others. Maybe other Android phones are effected as well because of an Android update. The solution should be similar for other Android phones (Samsung).
The advice on the internet to reset the smartphone was too much trouble for me. In addition, the chances of success were (in my opinion) rather modest.
Fortunately, I have found an easy solution to the problem and notifications of missed calls are now displayed again.
6 Steps to Turn on Missed Call Notifications on Huawei Phones
- Go to settings
- Tap Apps
- Select Apps (again)
- Search for the app Contacts and select it’s entry
- Tap Notifications
- Enable the ‘Allow notifications‘ slider

Great that it worked! The post is quite old, so this may not work for everyone anymore.
I had to type “contacts” into the search bar at that step. Try that – worked for me.

Im the exact same, i have tried everything except fot restoring to default settings. Trying follow advice from up above but i cant seem to find any of the apps or system processes.

Hey Christopher I think your issue is different. Maybe maybe that’s a firmware bug…
I tried to do this and the slider to turn on notifications is just greyed out 🙄

you may try to clear the cache of the contacts app and reboot the phone.
GOTO: Settings->Apps->Apps->Contacts
Click on: FORCE STOP
Click on: STORAGE
Click on: CLEAR CACHE
Reboot the phone.
Check if the slider is still greyed out.
